History
Founded in 1980 by the PS 87 Parents Association as a service of PS 87's working parents, the PS 87 Afterschool Program has grown over the last 29 years to be one of the most innovative and talked-about programs on the Upper West Side.

The PS 87 Afterschool program's partnerships with outside cultural and educational institutions are a hallmark of our award-winning program. Our Partners have included:
- Partnership for After School Education
- Carlos Oliveira Soccer
- Imagine Me Kids

The PS 87 Afterschool Program is governed by a standing committee of volunteers from the PS 87 Parents Association; day-to-day operation is under the supervision of a professional director, and a staff of trained early childhood teachers and assistants. Program Director Kyle Ahrold (212-873-0490) or PA Afterschool Committee are happy to talk with parents at any time about the program.
