There are no full refunds at any time, regardless of the reason for the withdrawal.

Families will be entitled to a $300 Full Week discount only when all 5 days are booked and paid for at the same time from one account. The discount is automatically applied if the correct conditions are met. If it is not applied automatically, you are not eligible for the discount. You will not be entitled to a discount if:
-
You book classes for one child using two different accounts. For example, Adult A books classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and Adult B books classes on Thursday and Friday.
-
You are waitlisted for a class or multiple classes upon your initial registration and get off the waitlist later. For example, you had classes on Monday through Friday in your cart but were waitlisted for the Friday class. If you are then offered and pay for the Friday spot, the discount will not apply.
-
If you book any number of classes initially and then decide to make it for 5 days, the discount will not apply.
-
-
Switching classes:
-
If a student is unhappy with a class and wishes to transfer to another class, we will make every effort to accommodate you. Switching classes is dependent on availability and cannot be guaranteed.
-
If transferring to another class on a different day, parents will be responsible to pay for the cost difference if the cost of the new session is higher than the old one, including additional supplemental fees. If it is lower, the balance will be refunded to the parent or applied to any balance owed.
-
If transferring sessions from a class with a supplemental fee to a class without a supplemental fee, the supplemental fee will not be refunded. These fees are paid to vendors and/or used to buy materials.
-
There is a $30 transfer fee for each transaction.
-
-
Late registration refund policy: If you wish to drop a class within the first two weeks of late registration after the initial registration period, you will receive a refund (less non-refundable registration and processing fees) on the cost of tuition, with written requests received by the 87 Afterschool office, according to the following schedule:
-
75% tuition refund with written notice within 7 days of the registration date, at 5:00 p.m.
-
50% tuition refund between 8 and 14 days of the registration date, at 5:00 p.m.
-
Refunds will not be granted after 5:00 p.m. on the 14th day following the registration date.
-
-
87 Afterschool cannot issue refunds for any class/session not attended or not held due to half-day or full-day closures by the NYC Department of Education.
-
If applying for reduced-rate tuition, eligibility must be verified with appropriate documentation; if eligibility requirements are not met, full-rate class fee(s) and all associated fees must be paid to the 87 Afterschool Program.
-
87 Afterschool requires my child to meet certain standards of behavior and that if my child fails to behave or demonstrates repeated unsatisfactory conduct, 87 Afterschool has the right to transfer my child to another class, or terminate my child’s participation from 87 Afterschool, without refund or credit for unused sessions (see Participant Code of Conduct).
-
Children must be registered for activities according to their grade level. Children who are found to be registered in activities that do not match their grade level will have those activities cancelled and parents will be refunded 90% of the tuition cost.
-
If my child (or children) is not picked up by 6:00 p.m., I agree to pay late fees of $5.00 per minute (per child) according to 87 Afterschool policy, and that my child may be taken to the NYC Police Department’s 20th Precinct in the event no one is available to pick up my child after 6:30 p.m.
-
Please notify us via the lobby cell phone at 929-384-9346 if your pick-up person is running late.

-
If my child is injured and requires medical attention and I cannot be reached for instructions, I do hereby give authority to 87 Afterschool to obtain necessary emergency medical treatment for my child until the family is notified or arrives.
-
I understand that I am required to provide 87 Afterschool with a recent medical form for my child.
-
If I fail to provide a medical form for my child within one month of registration, I understand that my child may be removed from the program, and I will not be entitled to a refund.
-
I do hereby grant 87 Afterschool permission to obtain my child’s health form from PS 87 if I have not provided one to 87 Afterschool. I also grant permission for 87 Afterschool to provide PS 87 with the same health form.
-

Updated Participant/Family
Code of Conduct
The Participant/Family Code of Conduct needs to be read, understood, and agreed upon by a parent/guardian for a child to participate in programming. We want all participants to thrive in the programs offered by 87 Afterschool; therefore, we expect families to assume accountability for both their own behavior and their child’s behavior. Any participant, family member, or caregiver who violates this Code may be removed from a specific class or the program as a whole.
As a valued participant of 87 Afterschool, my family, my caregiver, and my child agree to the following:
-
Show respect to every individual in the program and always use appropriate, courteous language.
-
Refrain from making disparaging comments or remarks, including those related to race, social status, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
-
Manage disagreements appropriately by seeking assistance from a staff member before a situation escalates.
-
Participate in class respectfully and avoid behavior that disrupts learning or the experience of others.
-
Keep hands, feet, and objects to oneself at all times. Physical contact intended to intimidate, harm, or threaten another participant or staff member is strictly prohibited.
-
Understand that violence of any kind, including physical aggression, hitting, kicking, pushing, biting, intentional injury, or threats of harm toward other children or staff, will not be tolerated.
-
Listen to constructive feedback, whether provided by students, staff, or program administration, and speak respectfully when offering feedback to others.
-
Respect PS 87 and 87 Afterschool property and use materials, equipment, and spaces appropriately.
Disciplinary Policy
87 Afterschool uses an escalating discipline policy when addressing behavioral concerns:
-
First incident: Verbal or written warning
-
Second incident: Suspension from the program
-
Third incident: Second suspension
-
Fourth incident: Termination from the program
However, if an offense is deemed serious enough, such as violence, threats of harm, or behavior that jeopardizes the safety or well-being of others, we may proceed directly to suspension or termination without following the step-by-step escalation.
Program Removal
If I, my caregiver, and my child do not follow the rules above, I understand that we may lose the opportunity to participate in any or all programs offered by 87 Afterschool, Inc. If we are removed from a specific class or from the program in its entirety, we will not be eligible to re-enroll in the future, and no refunds or credits will be issued for any unused sessions.
